That's an oversimplified view of potheads. It depends on who you hangout with lol. It's not like someone smokes a blunt and then automatically behaves the same way.

Control freak also depends on the person and situation. A narcissists can take pride in being easy going because you can't be the life of the party if you're always a control freak. No one likes an overbearing person.

Marijuana has a higher rate of usage amongst those who've tried it. Based on my experience, alcohol always just made things worse. Marijuana on the other hand - has actually helped on a number of levels. It may even be a part of why I'm here typing this. Maybe it gave me the distance from my problems that I needed in order to be able to start accepting them... I don't know.

By the way - I haven't smoked for the past two days. I still have plenty - but I feel like right now I need to be with this thing - no matter how hard it is! I don't want distance - I want LIFE!

This is how I see it: drugs are for people who enjoy a perceptual shift. Wether for fun, artistic creativity, or professional creativity. What's not fun about seeing life from a fresh perspective! People from all walks of life enjoy drugs for different reasons. I've used it many times to help me with work and know colleagues that do the same.

Again, I am not condoning or recommending the use of illegal drugs, but my ex sent me an extremely interesting article about LSD and NPD. I don't have a link - and it looks like it's a forum post from somewhere, so I won't repost here. But, the gist was - it helped the author return to a child like state that allowed him to deal more fully with his issues... I'm not sure about the validity of this approach, but I'm considering giving it a try at some point just to see... I've never been on acid before (though my false self has had it several times depending on which version of him you are talking to. ;-)

I've heard similar stories about mushrooms and dmt. It's too bad drugs get a bad wrap in our western society. These perceptions force the government to keep them illegal. What a world it would be to walk down the street, go to an adult bar and buy some acid, shrooms, or weed.

I don't know much about DMT but I've done LSD and I've done mushrooms. Not condoning drug use or anything, buuuuut they're both very fun. I felt especially insightful on mushrooms.

...may be interested to look at Ahyuasca then...it's also about healing...fascinating stuff and non addictive. Utterly unpleasant...
DMT experience without the fun.
But the users I know are researchers and regular users of it.

Staying exhausted works for me..physically...the mind is always motoring along, but blanks out for sleep...other times, utterly Zen.

You wrote about lacking empathy....but how so when you can capture emotional content and experience shame?

It depends on what you smoke. See the post I wrote about the strains above. If you use Sativa strains, you can actually come away with a very energetic effect.

I find that it helps, I got a state issued license after flying into a rage on other substances, which caused me to be incarcerated. After getting out, I feel I have to constantly medicated I feel, just to successfully complete probation, and now I have to sign into inpatient for Marijuana addiction. I'm sick of my state's laws, I feel they allow for too much discrimination against something that they recognize as a medicine, it helps more than it harms, and so what if I am? It, in the long run will help keep me out of jail. If one is in the legal system, that is where one stays.
