Devalue& Discard-google it and you'll find a lot of good texts related to cluster B and relationship phases

Thank you, and yes u are correct it is devalue and discard. I found it on another thread on this forum. It said when a Narc has no more use for u, or cannot use u anymore, they eventually D&D you, devalue and discard. Thanks .

Just saw this thread. Now thanks for helping me solve a questionb about why my perspective is so different from others. It is frustrating to deal with people who see things differently. They should be able to see why its different. Some even know some of whats happened to me.And yes, its all shaped who I was, but I didnt unđerstand why. But someone going against me if I feel strongly about something is going to be forced to deal with rage and then a discard
And yes, when a person with npd rages, you willsee below the false self.....a person you've never seen before.
But I'm quite unsure if I want to change or if I'm able to. After all, this is all I know. And if I dont validate/protect/defend myself, who will?

You're right to want to value, protect and defend yourself, maybe its just a question of recognising the best ways to do this, e.g. there are some ways that damage your life and your relationships less than others, using common sense there's no way I'd tell anyone to stop doing those things at all.

Also what you change and how is up to you, so look for something you really do want to change or experiment with looking at differently and start there, not where anyone else tells you to.

People can be ignorant - they see what a person has gone through in life then expect them to be just like everyone else? I don't see how that works, but then like you I haven't had that standard life so I get the automatic other perspective instead of the standard one. yes it is ignorant of people in general, but ignorance can also be cured to some extent through education... just takes time.

Having NPD doesn't mean no outrage etc. that you feel is valid or that things are not valid because you validate them yourself... actually I think the problem in NPD is that the person with NPD doesn't validate their own feelings, they validate their false self and defences (?) does that make any sense to anyone?

Of course you validate the false self. But when the false self is broken and you have nothing left? Until youild a new false self that is. Of cours e no one is going to validate anything on what you were iding from them. But by then, its all too late anyways.
