Sister in law suffering Munchausen Syndrome ?

No surprise that latest visit to specialist was cancelled within 24 hours of appointment. Family now staying with her and it’s frustrating to see a woman who only months ago was on the verge of being dependent on a wheelchair and unable to drive out and about walking a dog and nobody dares ask any questions.

It relies on the "unbelievable".

the thought normal people have that -

It is unbelievable that she could lie about this
It is unbelievable that she could hurt so many people who love and care about her
It is unbelievable that she could do that to her children
It is unbelievable that she could do that to her family
It is unbelievable that she could do that to her friends

the bigger the untruth the more trusting people are because the truth is almost too shocking to accept

that it would destroy our family
that it would destroy her relationship with her husband
that it would destroy teh chances of her children doing well at school
that it would destroy the chances of her children doing well in life

and on and on.
