Hi. I'm New. My mother had Munchausen

Postby Thatartgirl » Thu Feb 13, 2014 11:42 pm

Hi, I'm new. My mother had Munchausen and she had passed away about a year ago and I found out after her death that she had it. I knew something was wrong and why was I so sick and hurting so bad and sadly I finally have the answer to what I have been wondering about all these years and it's left me in Chronic Pain for the rest of my life and I'm so lost and just don't know where to go from here. :(

firstly this is a very quiet forum, MBP is very rare and many of us don't hang round long as it can be a little painful revisiting the past.

that said, welcome ..

my mother also has Munchausen, as a child I always had to make allowances for her as she was so very very ill, almost dying, ...and still is at 89, she will never change

that was not enough though and she damaged my brother and I in very creative ways

the light did not go on until I was early 40's, I may be highly intelligent (academically and in business,) but was real slow on that and there was a turning point from outside the family

can you tell us more about your situation and see if we can help

take your time, take care

one of the worst things about MBP is that it is so hard for others, outside sufferers or professionals to understand

MBP usually are nurses or physicians. They have the tools to do much harm silently.

Does MBP mothers have preference to victimize some particular childrens? As school bulliers, for example, they prefer flematics, geeks, nerds.

one of the worst things about MBP is that it is so hard for others, outside sufferers or professionals to understand

I ignore if a sexual issue is involved in the acts, but apart of the ego, a sadistic ingredient could explain the pulsion to kill a son.
