Group Homes

Postby sweetngentle » Wed Apr 27, 2005 10:04 am

My daughter has lived in a group home (her choice) for a little over 5 yrs. At the time of her entry she wanted to be more independent...which in the long run is a good thing for her.

At the present time I don't have very many good things to say about them....and she is in what is considered a very good home. It's clean, the food prepared is excellent...but when it comes to the staff in the home it falls far short of what I would call acceptable.

It seems to always follow a pattern. After a few years staff people get burned out yet they stay on. Currently my daughter is being verbally anf emotionally abused. My daughter wants to be moved to a different home ASAP....which is what the plan is. Also, more carefull scrutiny is being used in viewing this staff person. She could possibly lose her job.

Has anyone else run into a similar situation?

Kathy

Yes! Group homes suck-I would KILL anyone who tried to put me back in one. Thewy take all your damn money and they only care about money. Often the ***holes that are the staff rob you.
If I had my way, we would hang many group home owners around the neck untill they were dead for the ***t they pull. But then, that's just me.
Many of the ***tards that run the place are in it for one reason, and one reason alone: moolah. They don;t care if you sit in front of a t.v and ROT untill you die. I tried suicide 3 times in the group home with pills and booze. I wish one particular ***ch that ran one of them could be put in the electric chair or tied up, flown over Lake Michigan and throiwn in to die slow.
