Questions about the "terms and conditions"...

Postby alleykat8908 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 7:02 pm

Hi I read the terms and conditions and I was confused about the "sexually-orientated" thing. I found this site because I asked a question on yahoo and it took me here. And there was a person talking about sex stuff. I'm not sure what it means, and I don't want to get in any trouble... Please respond, and I hope I don't get in any trouble because mentioning it, I'm just curious and I don't want to get banned or anything...

Anyways, my name is Amberlee, I have a lot of mental illensses, one is Dissociative Identity Disorder. it's really hard for me and everything. I also have major depression, bipolar, PTSD, BPD and I believe that is it.

I like to spend time with my family, I have a little girl and a husband. They are the world to me. I love to color either velvet posters or just in a regular coloring book. I like fill it ins. I love to read and listen to music. I like to talk to people, I like to meet new people, I am a little shy sometimes. But I am an all good around fun person I guess. I am nice people say. I'm looking forward to making new friends. And talking to people who is going through the same stuff I went and am going through now. Thank you.

Hello Amberlee. :D And hello to your others also. :D I have Dissociative Identity Disorder also.

Don't worry, you are not in any trouble for mentioning the sexually-orientated thing. Not at all. It just says about that in the terms and conditions so that you keep most talk about sex related stuff to the forums that are specifically designed for that. For example, if you needed to talk about sexual abuse, you would talk about that on the Sexual Abuse forum and probably write a trigger warning if you were going to mention specific things about it. Or if you wanted to talk about how you are sexually orientated, whether you are homosexual or straight or something, that you do that respectfully and in the right forums too.

You seem like a very nice person. You don't come across as the type of person to intentionally offend or break rules. It's ok, you can post what you need to where ever you think it is most appropriate and if you accidentally make a mistake, there are moderators here that can move your post or add a trigger warning etc. Gradually you will learn how the etiquette and rules work here. Don't worry, we are forgiving of people who are new because we know the you don't quite know how things work here yet. We (the moderators) will help you get to know how to do things and not penalise you if you make a genuine mistake.

Come by the DID forum and say hello. Everyone is very friendly there. :D dissociative-identity/

I hope you find it supportive and helpful to be here...
In a way, I am not defined by my dissociation. In a way, I am.
