Look! It's a newbie!

Hi, I'm new here.

I'm here mostly because of a recent diagnosis of DID, but I pretty much have an alphabet soup of diagnoses. The ones that are currently relevant are major depression, PTSD, EDNOS (sub-threshold bulimia), and social anxiety disorder. I've been on pretty much every med in the psych section of the PDR, to no avail. I also had 29 ECT's, which left me memory-impaired and still depressed.

I'm in an alternative/holistic treatment program, but my therapist doesn't seem to know much about dealing with trauma in general and DID in particular, and she doesn't seem too willing to learn. Switching therapists isn't an option that's available right now, so I'm hoping I can get some help here so I can deal with it on my own.

Other than the crazy, I'm not a terribly interesting person. I read a lot and write occasionally. I'm a huge sci-fi geek. I love to knit and rant about politics, often at the same time. I'm owned by two awesome cats, Ferdinand and Mika.

So, yeah, that's me. Hi.
