Just introducing myself. I'm scarecrow817. Male, 29. I have social anxiety disorder and recurring agoraphobia (among other conditions I may or may not know about). Makes it hard to make friends much less a girlfriend. I'm just glad that there's a message board like this.

Hey scarecrow817,

My own agoraphobia was much stronger in my youth than it is now. These days, i've trained myself to face my fears and go headfirst into potential agoraphobic situations. I used to lock myself in the toilet at home when I was a kid, and when I went out I could never lift my head to look at someone. Going into shops was a definate 'NO', but now everything has changed. Please try to find that confidence to face your fears too. I know it's tough dude, but you can do it. Sorry if this sounds condescending, but i'm just trying to help.

Maybe you could talk more about your preoblems. It might help you learn more about yourself.

same as BDD i guess.. but all this started when i hit puberty.. u start to smell sweaty in armpits after exercise and saliva becomes thickier than usual and tastes weird sometimes, especially after sleeping... and i've heard many times that you can't smell your own odor. that's why im paranoid about my body odor.. everytime i notice people look uncomfortable, my brain tells me that's because they think i smell terrible..

Interesting... ...I know the reason why it's sometimes difficult to smell your own body-odour though: It's because if your nose-hairs are sensitised to the same smell repeatedly, they stop sending signals to your brain. For example, if you are on a farm and there is manure around, you will ntoice it at first with your nose, but then your nose-hairs will stop sending signals to your brain and the smell will 'vanish'.

I tend to wash my clothes every three days, but I change vest/t-shirt (worn under a jumper) everyday. Underwear should obviously be changed each day too. If you sweat too much, then maybe you are drinking too much water.
