Not Sure Where To Post My Introduction

Postby Phoebe » Sat Dec 26, 2009 8:47 pm

I am sure a Mod will soon sort it for me.

I have BPD and have been dx for about 6yrs.
I am trying oh so hard to get better - but I feel as if the process is a waste of time.

I have just spent another miserable Christmas - on my own
and I am desperate for support.
I phoned a helpline tonight and was basically told it was my own fault :(

Life is very hard

Hello, Phoebe, welcome to the BPD forum. I am not a moderator but I'm sure you are fine here. You've come to the right forum for BPD discussions.

The members are pretty evenly split (if you'll excuse the expression) between BPDs and Nons (nonBPDs) here and both groups have been really good at trying to help each other. Indeed, the strength of this forum, IMO, is that it is the only really active BPD forum on the net that is not targeted solely to one group or the other.

I'm one of the Nons, which doesn't mean I don't have issues but, rather, I don't have BPD. Like most Nons here, I have strong traits of codependency which I've been learning to control over the past several years. You are stuck with me, at the moment, because this is the day after Christmas and lots of members are traveling or out buying up things that did not sell before Christmas.

Until you get some more responses, please take a look at some of the other threads on this forum. You likely will find that other BPDs have raised many of the same issues you are having to deal with. I'm glad you found us, Phoebe.

Hi Phoebe,

A helpline told you it was your fault? :( Not a very good helpline if you ask me. So sorry you had to hear that.

It's not your fault. It's no one's fault. It is what it is. That's what I try and tell myself.

Sometimes I believe it. :(

Welcome to the forum. I'm new here too. ~ Sly

Thanks Guys,

I have been told a few times - by the same helpline (the only one I know of)
that I am happy being 'ill' and that I am not trying to get better
- even though that isn't true.......

Grrrrrrrr - It makes me feel I have no where to turn
Glad I found this place
