new to this forum...

hello, my name is Mick and both myself and my wife are schizophrenic...we both are veteran "posters" from other forums not mentioned here, but are both looking for a new forum...perhaps my wife will join me here, she's sleeping as I am writing this, but I bet she follows me here probably...her name is Nancy and we both live on disability here in Tulsa, Ok.

I am an artist, (so is Nancy), and paint with acrylics for extra money...we soon plan to do "art shows" once we move back to Phoenix, AZ next fall...I love dogs and cats, and most animals, and love to cook ...especially cajun food...

I was an architect before I fell ill to schizophrenia some ten years ago, and off and on, have been pretty stable, especially now...

I attempt to still lose weight and recently lost fifty pounds...I'm pretty proud of that....haha...

Hi Mick! Welcome to the forum. Tulsa, eh? I never got lost as much as I did while traveling through Tulsa. LOL! I hope you stick around this place for a while. It's full of nice people and you can learn a lot.

Congrats on the weight loss. It must have been a little difficult since you love to cook Cajun food. Gumbo? Yummy!!!

I have schizophrenia too. I am an academic that dropped out of university after some mental trouble. I am trying to lose weight too. What medication are you on? I love art. Hope to see you around, I'm usually here and in the schizophrenia subforum.
