Have you looked into schizotypal disorder? If not, I would suggest doing so as to me, it sounds like this may be a good fit. Even so, I am not a professional and so this is merely a suggestion.

I may not be of much help anyways, as I am of quite a flattened affect myself (and that's verging on an understatement).

Yes I have. Only recently though, which is where I found this forum.

Everything I've read about the type has been spot on, but I also shared with many others such as Schizoid, Narcissistic and some others, but mainly Schizotipal. Most of them seem to have many similarities.

The fact that I was outcasted has made me somewhat narcissistic though, so they do go hand in hand.

Though I'm against psychotherapy as I hold strong spiritual beliefs and believe this system is not wholly friendly with the spiritual soul.

Many disorders do have a tendency to share some characteristics with others, especially if they are of the same type (i.e. the "schizo" types will have some kind of basic, common root).

I would suggest, if you feel schizotypal fits you well, to read more about it in detail either via the internet or check out some books from your local library, to learn more.

I don't know if that helps, but it seems that is the only advice I can think to give at this time.

Acausal, I've read a few of your posts, and I'm curious. You make some references to spirituality in general terms. Have you studied or followed a path? Or is it just that you recognize that some people are spiritual?

You sound like someone who might do well to find a genuine teacher on a genuine path (whichever path that might be). Sometimes people isolate themselves deliberately without realizing it, as a natural way of preparing themselves for a spiritual step. (that is... people who are overly social are usually not able to go deep into spirituality. All of the great teachers (as well as all of their best students) were all loners.

I would get off the kick of worrying about DSM diagnoses. Personality disorders may be taken out of the next DSM, just because enough people question whether or not they exist (that is, whether or not the paradigm is useful).

Try to decide if you are a buddhist or a taoist, rather than deciding if you are "schizoid" or "narcissistic".

I think she mentioned something about acausality. I think it is fascinating. I have joined her in the quest for this wisdom.

I had to google "acausality" and then I had to open my mind, and then I needed something to drink...

Long story short, acausality seems to be one grand worldview (or paradigm). Very interesting for the big picture, but utterly impractical in day to day life.

If I need an apple from the apple tree then going up to the tree and picking an apple will reliably result in (cause) me having an apple. We can argue whether one caused the other just because it preceded it, I guess.

But I guess since you two are acausals, I'll renounce my previous religion and join you. The Pope will be disheartened, but that's really his problem, now isn't it?

So what do I do now?
