Hi i'm new here. What's with the over-strict moderators?

Hi I'm new here. Nice to meet you.

I've got to say, I am absolutely shocked at the number of posts that get locked and moved into the "venting" section.

There are so people on that board who are practically crying out for help from this community. Instead of welcoming them, a moderator has locked them out and ostracised them from any help. Shameful.

No doubt this post will get locked too.

Do you agree? (I am asking a direct question, no need to lock this one)

The Venting Forum you are referring to, is a place intended for members to blow off steam over whatever is bothering them. It is a forum where no replies are permitted, hence why the threads are locked, and it is set up that way deliberately. Kind of like going out into the middle of a paddock/field, screaming about what's bugging you and having to answer to no-one about it. Seriously, if you're out in that paddock screaming at the world over something, do you want to be interrupted? Or have someone question you on it mid-way through it?

If users do want a reply to their post, there are over 100 other forums for them to post in, where people can reply and discuss their own thoughts and opinions with them.

Majority of the posts in the Venting Forum were started in that forum, they were not moved there. Moderators will only move a post there if a user is only wanting to vent thoughts, rather than wanting replies to their post. Similarly, we will move a post out of there if it appears someone has posted there but still seems to want replies and input from others.
