Just Joined

Hello everyone,
I am a new member of this forum. A little about me-I am in my late 40's, and I was the victim of a sexual assault when I was about 8 years old. My assaulter was a music teacher-the lessons and assault took place in his home when he and I were alone. As young as I was when it happened, I do remember exactly what he did to me. I was also raised as a Jehovah's Witness, if anyone is familiar with that religion (which I'm sure some of you are). I left the JW religion over 20 years ago and the assault was nearly 40 years ago, but this is the first time I've actually signed up on an online support group for other victims. I'm not looking for sympathy, I just registered to be able to talk about what happened with others who may have dealt with the same thing.
