Welcome Raze!
I see that you have interesting hobbies!
While I understand and can relate to what brought you here.
Mental Illness is a drag, because it seems you never see the finish line. If there is one? Looking forward to talking and sharing with you.

I'm a newbie author

Postby J.D. Stottlemire » Mon Sep 24, 2007 3:33 pm

Hey,

I'm new. After 20 years without treatment, and 7 years of therapy for Bipolar Disorder, I am now a successful author and pretty good (my daughter's words) father. I look forward to learning a lot on the forums and to spreading hope.

I've come so far. I hope now I can help others.

hey.

I'm 18 years old, and am unlucky enough to have been diagnosed with both antisocial personality disorder and bipolar type one, despite the strong negative correlation between ASPD and Axis I affective disorders.

I've spent quite a lot of time in psych wards against my will, so I tend to disapprove of selfdiagnosis.

yirimyah,

Welcome to the PsychForums.
Good to see you say hello.
Self diagnoses can be a dangerous thing.

Peace to you.

My name's Roger, and I have only recently discovered these forums. What brought me here was an online personality disorder test. I'm a fan of questionnaires and the like, so I decided to fill it in.

I was fairly surprised when the schizoid result came out as 'Very High' (in bright red as well :p). I had no idea what a schizoid was, so research took me from website to website and finally to here, where there is a schizoid personality disorder subforum.

I'm not sure if I am a schizoid or not (will probably see a psychologist or something soon), so I probably won't jump into the deep end of the discussions here yet.

About me, I'm a first year uni student. I'd say that's the only thing worth knowing about me at this time.

A few questions, if anyone is willing to answer them:

1. Why are some avatars larger than 100x100 pixels?
2. What's with the consumer bar underneath our usernames? I mainly don't understand the 'consumer' bit.
3. A suggestion: regarding the schizoid subforum, would it be possible to have some sort of introductions/community thread in there (I guess this could apply to all the other forums)? Looking in that forum, it seems that you just have to jump in and discuss away.

Thanks, and thanks.

My name is Dan and I come from Great Britain.

I have possible mental health problems.

I believe (70:30) that this Universe is not real (a mere holographic
projection). The so-called hallucinations and delusions are infact my son (the one I see) keeping me in touch with the real Universe so to speak.

The real Universe, which I have memories of (as I have memories of this Universe, the Dark Universe), is, while post-Apocalyptic, a better existence.

The history of the real Universe is different from that of the Dark
Universe.

My mind sometimes goes blank and I sometimes hear things on the Dark Universe radio and see on the TV people trying to tell me something. I also have seem to think about something without control over that thought and then a few hours later something happens that mirrors what I inadvertently thought (e.g. thinking of two battles that happened in the real Universe at Folkestone and Dover, and then seeing a map almost obscured under a table with just Dover and Folkestone showing).

If this Universe is real, then what could possibly be wrong (I know you can't provide a professional opinion), or is it that this Universe really isn't real as my son says. I am 19 in this Universe (thus impossible to have a seven (almost eight) year old son), but thirty in the real Universe (thus it is possible).

Welcome to the Pysch Forums.

you and I are talking in the real Universe, We can see the past, we can try and change the future, but feel and know that part of me is 18 yrs and I have a 13yr old son, The Rational Grown up Red
I know my real age in the real universe and my son keeps be grounded, children have a way of doing that.
Wherever or Whenever you "ARE" that is real; real Universe.

Does that make sense??

- that's exactly what my son, weather he is real or not, says you are programmed to say.

SmallTalkRed wrote:We can see the past, we can try and change the future
- Not sure what you mean by that, but I have memories of two existences, two lives, and the future looks uncertain.

SmallTalkRed wrote:but feel and know that part of me is 18 yrs and I have a 13yr old son
- do you mean you see a thirteen year old?

SmallTalkRed wrote:The Rational Grown up Red

- do you mean you know your age in this Universe and that your son (the one you see?) keeps you within this Universe or another one?

SmallTalkRed wrote:Wherever or Whenever you "ARE" that is real; real Universe.
- I suppose you mean by this, that in wherever or whatever we are = the real Universe.

SmallTalkRed wrote:Does that make sense??
- I think so, but I still believe that there is more to this existence than what I see in this Universe. I am religious, but still believe this Universe is not the real one (a bit like Plato's World of the Forms), where this Universe is a shadow, a dark shadow, of the real Universe.
