hello Sparky21,

Hi and Welcome to the psychForums. In the introduction thread (this one) when people are just sharing what they are comfortable with, you will often read part of what has brought them here. This not usually a positive statement.

If you are around the site for any length of time, you will find this is a very positive place. Member support members all the time.
It would be wonderful for you to add to those affirmations!

There are many places on the forum to get info, support and have some fun.

Top of the day to you,
Red

Hi ya'll. I'm Jennine, 36 y.o. female who's felt abnormal all my life. I've been treated for depression since I was a teenager, and lately been diagnosed with Social and General Anxiety with panic attacks. I totally melted down at work a few years ago and I'm pretty much agorphobic now. I can't take the meds - they make my symptoms worse or physically messed up. Therapy doesn't seem to be working.

My last two therapists didn't "believe in labels" so they never really discussed my conditions with me, but kept focusing on my beavhior and developing coping skills. Sometimes I feel like telling them that my f**ked up behavior ARE my coping skills. Sometimes I feel that they just don't have a clue. So I'm researching for myself - don't know if I'm Avoidant or Schizoid or Aspergers... but I know this isn't a simple case of a little anxiety or feeling blue.

Hello plicketycat, ( i love your name! it is adorable :D )

No meds is rough. It was horrible for me. I am glad to see you can maintain. Anxiety sucks, pure suffering to me.

I think you will find many who can identify. Glad you posted and said Hello! I am Red. Nice to meet you.

Hi "no_one",
I'm not too swift myself, but if you have trouble "talking" in forums you might try hitting the "pm" button at bottom of post of somebody like SmallTalkRed ... I think I've seen her say that was okay when somebody was stuck.

Here's hoping maybe that'll help you feel (and be) more able to talk.

no one,
you are someone with feelings. You are human, like me.
I will talk to you. If someone has hurt you, I understand being
afraid and no one to trust, so you are stuck.
You are posting, that is a good sign. No one here will attack you, no one here will hurt you.

We are a very supportive community. While you can post on the forum in any forum that you want, or applies to you, we also have pm's. So you can send a private message to anyone, me (mods) or any member, when you choose to speak someone here will listen. I give you my word.

all my best to you.

hmmm, not sure if I was supposed to click on new topic or reply to topic, obviously im a newbie, lol. Hello, 32 yr old female here. A little about my story, abusive childhood, ward of the state at 12 yrs, Csd custody til 18 in a group home in a big city. Homeless street youth. Have dealt with severve depression (hospitalization) Medications, counceling, PTSD, severe night terrors. Seen alot of crazy things in my life. Amazed at where I am now! Never thought i would make it this far. I have good weeks and bad weeks, don't get me wrong, im having a good one at the moment( can you tell?) Im an artist, which helps me express things that words cant when I am depressed. I understand what its like to be in the depths of depression, a stranger in a strange land, where words don't seem to touch you. Thank you for letting me be a part of the healing process. T.
