rough time in life/new here

Hi everyone,
I'm Kathleen.
I'm going through a difficult time in my life right now, but its honestly always been a struggle. I grew up in an abusive home, struggled with self harm and depression as a teen.. im 21 now and just processing the memories of sexual abuse these past few weeks. I also have a baby alter named Kat. (I may also call myself Kat for short too though.) the baby alter thing is new for me. i love her but she gets lonely and bored. I also am very sick and am home often which gets lonely. Just looking for support.. I am in tears a lot. I also enjoy helping people. Looking forward to meeting you all.

I hope you found some purpose here by helping others. I found it helps with my loneliness to tell people of my experiences and to hope that they can learn out of the mistakes I made. I am sorry for everything you had to go through but I can see that you are stronger than you think and that you will keep getting stronger.

You can tell us maybe why you are having a difficult time then people might be able to offer guidelines or just support and sympathize? Or is your depression just really bad today?

I've been going through a hard time because I am coming to terms recently with being sexually abused/ raped during these past few months( weeks especially.) I have a lot of time to think about what happened to me also because I am very sick and am home most of the time. Its hard to deal with on top of everything else.

I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. Unfortunately a lot of people can identify with your situation on this forum. I can only tell you that no matter what you are thinking: It isn't your fault that this happened to you. You were, unfortunately, simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. It doesn't matter if you are religious or not but serenity really only comes from accepting the things you cannot change. And what happened to you is horrible and you have every right to feel the way you do -but it happened and you cannot change that it happened. You are strong and I know you can recover from this.
I really hope you feel better soon. It is worse when you are sick, I can only imagine. But if you want to rant, there is a venting forum under the Member's Corner and you can always continue posting here for support or simply to make your feelings known.
