How to post an avatar

I have a question - when I had a look at the page where you can link to a picture, there was an option that said 'gallery', with lots of nice avatars in, but I was worried that these were existing members' pictures?

I don't want to steal someone's avatar, but I don't really want to set up a pic hosting site account either! So I just wanted to know if the gallery pictures were free to use.

Yes, the gallery are free to use. It's a set that comes with the forum itself. A few of them have been used by other users. But they don't "belong" to anyone.

Please note. A few of them don't fit within the Forum Rules on avatars. I've seen a few with weapons or drug references. Which are a no go here. So, best to use common sense when picking.

PS. I use http://imgur.com to host my picture. Because it doesn't need an account. I just upload the picture [which I downloaded and resized myself.] And it gives you the URL to use. All done.

It doesn't work. I've got the image down to the right size however the link never works. I followed the instructions.
