Admin,
I don't know if all locations that access this site are privy to the advertisement for the television series Dexter that has been flashing at the tops of your pages for a few weeks now, but I have to take some issue at this. And I hope that my concern is taken seriously.
This is a mental health site. It is a place that attracts and harbours individuals experiencing difficulties in thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Not the least of which are struggles with the topics and themes that Dexter glorifies and romanticizes. However, let us not get off to a bad start here -- I do understand that a television show is just a television show, and that it is not to be taken seriously. And I love the show. Intensely. But, the fact remains that I am a (relatively) sane individual, and I find that advertisement to be... unhelpful. To say the least.
I know this message is going to seem less like concern and more like juvenile whining, and that the concept of "triggering" is an old one that is too frequently screamed on this site. But -- still. I take issue with the advert. I know PF has to make money, it is, after all, free for us to access. But, I beg of you. Consider the populations you are attempting to help. And consider what the philosophy is that the series Dexter propagates.
Thank you.
