New Forum Suggestion

Well...have you ever seen dogs from puppy mills?

Edit: Ethics is too serious for JFF. Maybe there should be a Remorse and Shame forum next to the Grief and Loss forum.

Administrators and fellow consumers, your thoughts?

Sometimes people have trouble sorting out necessary remorse and shame from unnecessary, and if it's necessary, then they may need help confronting the source.

Yes I'd agree with what you've said there. I think that usually remorse and shame comes in the context of some type of situation, for example abusing someone or for example neglecting to give a loved one attention when you are feeling in a pit of depression etc. I think if people are needing to discuss their remorse and shame then they would be best putting their post in a place specific to the type of situation they felt the remorse and shame for. So in my above examples they would be best to put their thread in the abuse section or the depression section respectively. That way they would be discussing their remorse and shame with people who may have been in a similar situation. I think this also means their is probably not a need for a specific remorse and shame forum.
Grief and loss is already it's own unique type of situation and so I think it is more justified for that to have it's own dedicated forum.

I'm sorry if I put it in the wrong place...

I didn't want to discuss puppy mills or anything. I wanted to ask people opinions on that subject for a presentation & whether it would be good for a presentation. Maybe some further ideas for what to say.

I asked the moderators if we could have a "general discussion" forum & they said no. They said anything that's not mental illness related to place it in JFF.

:(

I posted my inextinctivism poll to Grief and Loss and no one responded :( but I didn't know where else to put it. I think it deserves to be on a mental health site. Don't you? Where should it go?

MMonroe, even if the decision is no to having a new forum, suggestions are always appreciated.

I'm sorry no one has responded yet. Only 15 people including myself have seen it to date, maybe none of them have been able to relate to the situation you are describing... I can't say I've been in the situation you've described. It is tough to work out where to put something like that... It seems you've made the best choice of where to put it (at least that's what I think), perhaps many other people who visit that part of the forum the grief is just too raw for them to be able to respond yet. I hope you get some replies soon...
