A sub-forum for the victims of xPD

Postby Td4 » Thu May 26, 2011 3:28 pm

I propose to create a sub-forum for the victims of people with psychiatric troubles? This would avoid them to be permanently challenged along lines that do not suite there recovery! I am actually from both sides and I can clearly see how strange this situation is (asking advice from the same sort people who clash with them) and how tempting it is to minimize your own troubles or present them on a positive light when confronted to a victim!

More reasons :
- It's really a post traumatic stress disorder from a long confrontation with someone having a PD. So a specific sort of PTSD.
- Why a forum for this special PTSD and not the others? Why not in fact, but this one seem more complex, because it imply talking about the "abuser" xPD within a supportive environment and the best supporting environment is made by people with the same background.

YES PLEASE. This is one of the primary causes of argument and frustration on a lot of the PD boards.
  • Just because I'm crazy doesn't mean I'm wrong.
  • Please feel free to request citations/sources.
  • Here's my Dx.
  • I really like making lists.

I think this idea is worth some consideration. I shall pass on this suggestion to the other more experienced moderators and see what they think...
In a way, I am not defined by my dissociation. In a way, I am.

I'd like this as well. How many times must I peruse the Histrionic forums & click a topic thinking its posted by a Histrionic only to find someone complaining about an X & I go "GARR." & Exit out.

Hello, looks like everybody think it's a good idea and it would be interesting to have a feedback from an administrator! But may be it looks too much like a wild multiplication of topics, in fact twice as many as actually! Actually the best presentation approach I can think about would be to have the whole 30+ forums sort of hidden down a level to avoid a confusing front-end and to live the visual priority to the xPD them self and not their rebounds! Seems quite logical as the rebound on other people comes always after someone develop a PD 1st hand! The only problem I can see is about moderators being victims of xPDs, because for many victim of xPDs you are probably too exhausted to have that charge because just in interaction with a significant xPD-person or it's a past story and recovery could be quick as the need to move on and think about something else! And the one with PDs themselves probably won't be neutral enough! So may be a professional psychologist with free adverts on the forum or the possibility to pick customers ???? Don't know if it would work ????
