I am having some strange issue on this forum website where new posts put the page into a mode where it never finishes drawing. I see a spinning wheel in the Google Chrome tab that never stops spinning. This is probably related to my blocking third party cookies. I strongly suspect that this problem is being caused by all of the banner ads on this site. Some kind of ad blocker might resolve the issue.
The bottom line is that I get intolerable slowness when I am writing new posts. The page freezes constantly. Characters I am typing do not show up for maybe 30 seconds. The page changes its vertical position without warning.
Is there a way to configure my settings to work around this issue?

The only thing I can think of is, perhaps, your internet connection being too slow. That is just a possibility because I personally don't have this problem on my home computer. My laptop is another thing, I had to have programs in the background stop running because it was causing so much slowness on it. But I don't really have any real way I could advise you to fix this.

I have download speeds of over 100 Mbps and have no problem viewing 4K video on Youtube. So it is not my Internet. Psychforums is loaded with huge amounts of advertising and cookie "bloat". That is what is ruining the performance.

I'm sorry you are having this problem. I really don't have a solution for you. Thank you for bringing this up and I will have it looked into it some more, but I can't promise you anything.

Have you tried a variety of browsers? Is this on a computer (lap/desktop) or mobile device?

Please. I'm having problems as well. First the insecure connection, and now my firewall keeps blocking the site.
It might just be firefox?

NP sweetie. Just an observation, ymmv. I find Firefox to be slower across the board, even with ad blockers installed. FF used to be my go-to but it got to where it was leaving me frustrated all the time.
I don't understand the OPs trouble with Chrome. But then it'd help to know what platform. I know Chrome on my Droid tablet isn't fully functional with PF as it stands atm. Desk/laptop it's fine, and acceptably fast, but I'm running a Linux distro, not Windows. That right there takes care of a lot of slow performance issues, especially on older machines.
