skimming through the board index, i could see nothing providing for the support of carers. i'm currently caring for both my parents. it might have been nice to read about other peoples' experiences of such situations.

Try Living with Mental Illness. Don't be alarmed by the words. It doesn't mean you or your loved one have a mental illness but it is a way to open up and perhaps receive some support. If you quickly skim through the titles of the Threads you will notice that some Threads deal with just asking questions about other topics other than mental illness. You can try there. I will look around and see if there is something else that comes to mind about where to post your questions.

I cannot think of any other forum that might be about this topic. I'm sorry.

well, i did look. sadly, i don't think that's what i'm really looking for. i guess this isn't something that fits the psychforums framework, as it's not directly a mental health issue.

Perhaps
family-support/ ? I've seen carers posting in specific forums. When there's a particular issue such as dementia. But you're right, shock. That we don't have a good place for general care issues.
