I have a more specific question related to the OP's question.
I too am new and know that my first posts will be vetted before displaying them. This is a sound rule and I have no problem with it.
However, there is no indication of my post actually being in the system. When I click on the 'View your posts' link in the upper left of the page, there are no results even though I posted twice. Does that mean that my posting somehow got lost? Should it indicate that I have posts pending but not yet displayed or is this normal?
I am asking because if my posts got lost somehow, I want to post again as I am kind of anxious to see my post displayed and replies to it by other members. I am pretty sure when people first post here, most of them are anxious to get a conversation going.

But I don't want to flood the system with duplicate posts if my original posts are in the system already. That would unnecessarily add to the volunteer moderators' workload who are already kind enough to give their time to this, and I understand it could also get me in trouble.
Please, let me know ASAP whether I can trust that my posts are in the system, waiting to be approved. I also would like to suggest the improvement of the 'View your posts' feature so that even posts awaiting moderation are shown to the user, to help them confirm whether they need to post again.
Thanks in advance!
