Avatar image posting is really complicated on this site. It took an hour to change to my current picture, and I want to change it to a picture I have on my laptop, but was deleted on the web. So basically- why isn't there a Uport or a browse gallery option on this site?

I use http://imgur.com personally. :D Put it back online and then link from there.

To give a literal answer. I think it might be because avatars are a side issue. The discussion here is the main thing. Spending time integrating or activating avatar options that few people will use. Isn't as good a use of time as working out better spam defense. For example.

That would be great, but I'm not exactly what you would call "technically inclined". Some people change their avatars quite often, actually (crackedgirl and other users). Unless you use a picture already uploaded on the site, you don't have easy "change picture" options. From my social media experience, most of them have it set up that way exclusively. Just saying.

I don't know across the whole forum. But where I read, people mostly use off forum avatars. And don't loop back to old ones once used.

Exactly, unless you use on-site users, the application process is very time consuming, and a waste of time for users who frequently change avatars.

Not sure what you mean by this, Ada. Are you saying not to re-use old avatars you've used and since changed? If so, why not?

Also, MentalBoy13579, just so you know, homosexuality is no longer considered a disorder. At least not by the psychiatric community.

I don't see it as a disorder, it is just a portion of my state of being, like paranoia and hallucination s. Yeah, its really stupid logic, but I can't be open about my sexuality in the real world, except around a few people, and I like to be honest..

Ok. I was wondering if you were "diagnosed" as such by some crazy doctor.

No, I didn't mean that. It pairs with the previous sentence. Most people use off forum avatars AND don't loop back to old ones once used. [Which negates the need for a gallery or place to store previously used ones.] That's only where I read though, and my impression. Nothing scientific.

Last time I checked, which was yesterday, 5 minutes before I made this forum, some avatars were already on-site. Most don't loop back to old ones, true, so changing it to store these isn't my point, my point is, it is exponentially easier to click on am image, download it, and upload it directly to the avatar page than to go through the process of finding the image, opening it, resizing it to fit, copy and paste the URL into the sit, and readjust it there.

And also, no therapist has bothered to stay around long enough to diagnose me with a disorder, I had to rely on anonymous tests.
