Is my post lost forever?

Postby MorphoDidius » Tue May 13, 2014 6:18 am

I just logged in, posted a new topic, typed my heart out, and clicked submit. Then I was asked to log in first, then brought to a blank page like I was starting over. Do I have to type my post all over again?

I'm so sorry that happened! It's horrible to lose a long post like that. I've checked and I think it is gone. The system does log people out after I think half an hour as a security measure. But it's super frustrating when that happens to a post.

I know it's no help now. :( But what I do is to write long posts in Notepad. And then just copy & paste at the last minute. Another option is to "Preview" the post every paragraph or two. That is the nudge to the site to keep the login alive for another 30 mins.

More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness.

Thank you, Ada. You've saved me tons of future frustration! I'll definitely follow your suggestions.
