Re: Deactivate/delete my account

Hi Aliw. As per forum rules, we do not delete posts. It's possible to make minor privacy edits if needed. But I've looked at your post and can't see anything like that either. If you'd like me to deactivate your account I can do that. That prevents anyone logging into it. And you won't receive forum emails. But the posts will remain.

Please let me know if you'd like me to do that. I'm sorry I can't do exactly as you ask.

Will do, jman. If you ever want to reactivate the account, just get in touch. Best wishes to you.

Footsie! Why so soon? Sorry to see you go, so soon after starting P3. Maybe the lightning scared you. :(

Is it like a protocol, that members are not allowed to deactivate their account, without being questioned/coerced by the mods into staying? I remember one time a person really wanted to leave but the mods decided that the person wanted to stay for awhile so they refused to deactivate his account. I am guessing they liked his posts or something.

There's no protocol, no-mans-land. The response depends on the person, nothing more.

There's a huge difference between showing concern for people who might be in a rough place ["questioning"]. And coercing. To be honest I resent that latter word. You're basing that assessment off a very limited amount of information. And isn't even supported by this thread, given that there are also several examples of people having accounts deactivated with nothing more than well wishing in response.

Hmm, interesting. Ok, then. Well, I rather liked Fists posts. My post was as a member not a mod. Maybe I should have made that clear (noted!). I'm sure many members deactivate their accounts per month. I don't know 99% of them.
