ive had it with these advertisements!

Post content has been removed as inapproriately written with vulgar and explicit language. It was also posted in a forum which has nothing to do with it.

We understand some people may not like the advertisement showing on the site, let me just remind you a fact : Ads are covering part of the running costs. Without it, you wont be able to come here.

If we had every user coming to this place making a symbolic donation when finding some support, for sure we could reduce the ads, it's not the case, so if we want this place to stay here, that's the drawback you have to accept.

Do you use firefox? Plugin call NoScript can stop most of these from appearing to you I believe. also help protect against malicious software.

I'll try that. I am on an Ipad right now using Safari because my MacBook Pro can't do $#%^.

I'm going to search for something like this because it's like i'm being attacked. I can't take it. It's really triggering I'm not joking. I'm already feeling really bad today.

Dunno, I'm getting ads like: You want to know what's in your criminal record, which would seem rather useful, except that I'm already conversant with the contents. At least in some cases, it seems the targeting is working, and saves me from having to wade through drug adverts, etc.

I've heard mostly good things about chrome and Windows 7.

Can also play with your browser cookie settings and wipe your cookies. That will stop the targeting. NoScript will stop all animated and interactive ads as they have active scripts running. Best of Luck!

But don't tell them about it or you will be diagnosed as schizophrenic becuase anything that wasn't written in their books is delusional.

Clearing your browser history and cookies frequently will help lots to reduce the frequency of the ads you find triggering. For example if you search for or write about a drug or something you find triggering, clear the cookies afterwards and you'll be a lot less likely to receive targeted ads about it unless it's something you write about or search for regularly.

In Safari, it's pretty easy to wipe it and start again just by going to "History" in the top bar and going down to the bottom and clicking "clear history". It doesn't fix everything, but I think Safari seems to hold less cookies than some of the last browsers I've had. Also make sure you don't google stuff while logged into a google/youtube account. I've found that helps a fair bit too.

There are also Ad block programs that you could look into. The problem with that though is that if too many people use those, the sites won't generate any income from ads which is what helps sustain the technology enough for it to be viable to run the websites (I think). This could lead to some websites becoming more user-pay based eventually which I don't like the idea of personally so I'm more than happy to just keep wiping my history frequently and occasionally clicking on a random ad to help sites generate some income so that they can remain free to me.
In a way, I am not defined by my dissociation. In a way, I am.

Firefox has some pretty good built in tools for blocking stuff. You can set it up to accept (or block) cookies from specific sites...

Thanks guys. Apologies for the rant that's why I thought I had posted this in the anger forum. I just needed to vent, I didn't mean to sound offensive. The advice on here has been very helpful about this issue. It's just that, I was in a bit of an emotional crisis and reading advertisements about prozac, diet pills, weightloss, hospitals, drugs, and etc. just put me in a bad state. Again I apologize for sounding so distressed.
