New Post go way to the back

Postby confusedca » Sat Nov 24, 2012 4:05 pm

Hi All,

I've occasionally used message boards and I have never experienced one where the new post go to the back/end...as done here on Borderline.

I am new here, just posted what I thought to be an important question, and upon trying to review my post, couldn't even find it. I later learned it went 20-pages back.

Also as a reader of topics, I was reading the first several pages and then realized I was reading really old stuff and not the most current post where perhaps people needed speedier input.

It has been several days since my question/post, and I've still not received a response. Absolutely "No Response" has NEVER happened to me on a Message Board.

Just a friendly critique: It goes against human instinct/nature to go to the end/back of something for information or to perhaps offer input for someone else's recent questions/concerns. It is more natural to start at the beginning of topics, not to go 20 pages back.

I think the stickies might be confusing there, confusedca. Your post is in the third topic on the first page of BPD [below the announcements.] However as you say, there are 20 pages of posts within that one topic. It's natural for your post to be at the end of those, because otherwise the thread wouldn't be in order so answers would be read before questions. Anyone who is up-to-date with that forum will see your post marked as new. And if they click to read that topic, your post is where they'll start.

I'm sorry you haven't had any responses yet. The forum is mainly for supporting those with BPD, but I know it's good for those without BPD to have a place to ask questions that may relate to it. Reading back in that thread might help you answer your question, too. Many helpful perspectives on relationship problems there.

More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness.
