Risperdal for sleep?

Postby Winterblue » Fri Sep 07, 2012 10:07 pm

Hi, I've been taking a very low dose of seroquel for sleeping and it's recently stopped working so the psychiatrist has put me on risperdal. Has anyone heard of being prescribed this for sleep? I'm taking .50mg once a night.

I'm on Risperdal but not for sleep. I was started on .5mg and it didn't make me sleepy at all. When my dose went up to 1mg (once in the morning and once at bedtime) still didn't make me sleepy. I just switched to taking 2mg only at bedtime and it knocked me out cold.

I don't think .5mg is enough for sleep. It will knock you out at a higher dose though. Can you try 1mg and see how that effects you?
