I'm just wondering if anyone has used meditation as a way of reducing the effects of AvPD? I do it now and again and although it doesn't completely solve the problem it definitely helps. If I meditate at night, the next day I feel less fearful around new people and less likely to lose control when something upsets me.
I find an easy meditation technique is simply to sit in a dark room away from distractions like the TV and computer and just listen to the "noise" going on in my head. Eventually it will quieten down. 10 minutes of doing that seems to make a big difference to how confident I feel the next day.

Yes, I have. I´m now at the beginning and I can´t see the difference for now. I use guided mediation. At least, it is helping me to feel better while I´m practising. I discovered some days ago, a meditation that guides you to a completely comfortable state where fear doesn´t exist where all is calm. And ...I can´t express in words how well I felt. I´d like to reach this state in any situation. It would be marvellous.
In the end, this is the purpose but I don´t know how can I get it.

I've been doing a meditation called zhan zhuang for a few weeks and like it. Trying to do it everyday.
You have to let it all go. Fear. Doubt. Disbelief. Free Your Mind.

I really like simple zen meditations or meditation to music. It helps me feel better when it comes to going out and such. It sometimes takes awhile to build up concentration though, if I stop and then restart it won't do anything for awhile.

Hi,
Welcome to our family. Because i am doing meditation twice in a day. I have gained my confidence, removed fear, and am spending a tension less life. I have become well from various diseases. I think, you need to do meditation twice in a day(morning and night) and duration will be half an hour for each time.

Could you recommend resources on meditation? Books, videos or audio? I'm interested in meditating and there's just a lot of information out there. It's hard to know where to start.
