Anxiety and amino acids

Postby Judy » Sun Apr 11, 2004 9:46 pm

Has anyone tried using amino acid supplements? Or went to a naturopathic dr for help?

naturopathic? Where did that word come from. Sounds like natural sickness to me. Amazing how many people come to talk about amino acids all of a sudden.

Naturopaths can be found in a phone book.

I too suffer from depression. Amino acids are an alternative to prescriptions. I was placed on Zoloft and had nothing but weird side effects and no easing of the anxiety. I did a little reasearch on the internet and the help with my trusty vitamin book and found a natural alternative to anxiety.

And it worked.

I dont know about other messages about amino acids. Nor did I post to promote nor sell anything. The only reason I posted about the Naturopathic Dr was because the one I went to confirmed that I was on the right track with the supplements. I have not come here to step on you toes Lonely Stranger.

If anyone else reading this would like to hear my story. Please post and I will reply.

You know, I saw something on 60 minutes not too long ago, were people are hired to go and hang out where their market is. I think this was some kind of new hand held game. So they hired some kids to go out and hang out at a coffee shop, mingle and get others to play this cool game. It has a word, this new marketing technique. I do not recall what it is.

But I just do not beleive that people are coming out of no where to all of a sudden talk to us about Amino Acids. The ones that have come so far... well they are rather see through, obviously selling something and always claim not to be.

I learned in college that our body is able to produce all of the amino acides that we need except one. That one is obtained through meat. No I don't remember them. There are 8 essential amino acids if I remember correctly. They are the building blocks of all life. But if they get screwed up, they are also the cause for cancers, or the source of them.

They go through the body and attach to other objects that meet a certain shape, when a mis-binding occurs, it can cause more resulting in an abnormal growth of cells, ie cancer.

This idea of amino acids sounds good but I think someone might be playing with fire. I don't claim to know, I'm a layman.

Something just doesn't smell right, none of the regular board users ever come in here with this, it's always someone we don't know. I may be 100% wrong but I think someone is marketing.

You must like being a victim

Postby Judy » Wed Apr 14, 2004 2:43 am

The Naturo. Dr said what I'm taking is okay. And that's all that I need.

If a person comes on here with something new you think theyre selling something. How can you expect to be mentaly healthy with out trying something new? I dont usualy post on these boards because I have my anxiety under control. I was just trying to help.

You must enjoy the attention that you get from being sick.

And this letter I am sure is feeding your need for attention. You can guarantee I will not waste any more time posting to you again. And your sickness.

No, actually I didn't enjoy it at all.

And I'm doing quite well actually.

I'm sure not as prone to anger as you are.

we are here to help...

Postby sweetngentle » Wed Apr 14, 2004 12:52 pm

People,
I think that we should remember that these boards exist to help and encourage one another with the MI's we suffer from.....not to insidiously print remarks that will provoke one to anger. Once it is started in one post the other person will naturally take offense and that is how flaming gets started. It is not helpfull to you and not a healthy thing for others to read.

And also I HATE confilct :!: I wish all who post here only the best :)

consumer feedback self help package

Postby 20yddash » Sun May 16, 2004 1:06 am

Has anybody ever heard of the Linden Method; its a book/CD/tape self help package for anxiety disorders. I found it thru google at www.panic-anxiety.com. ?

For the question about st Johns wort, I've been taking 600-1000 mg/day for over a year and still feel like I have excessive anxiety.
I'm still taking it on the theory that I don"t know that I wouldn't be worse off without it...probably plays in to my obsessive-compulsive tendencies. oh well.

I was searching for reviews on the Linden method and found this post. I'd be grateful too if someone could share his experiences.
