most of the anxiety and panic disorder sufferers I know who did get better, did so using both medication and CBT
lots of info about CBT on the net, also self help books for agoraphobia and anxiety are full of it, I also got better this way
some just want to take meds and refuse to learn any CBT, too much stubborn thinking and pride can be the cause of this
the methods anxiety sufferers use to calm and relax themselves obvioulsy arent good enough so new methods need to be learned
genrle exercise and long walks are calming and relaxing, so is housecleaning
massage helps , the massage person can feel stressed or cramped muscles and work on them Books on home massage are available if you can get your partner to massage you
spas, jacuzzis, hot tubs or even a long soak in a hot bath relaxes the body
generally whatever relaxes the body also relaxes the mind

I found that CBT works wonders for anxiety.
However i'd love to go the med free route, and likely can with my anxiety as it's under control, just a few things that still make me panic, but it's for the anxiety/sad. Sucks but hopefully one day i'll be off them for good.
Your suggestions are helpful, thank you for posting them.
