So I was thinking about it and I came up with a good comparison.

Alot of people don't really understand depression because they think they get it sometimes. That its some sad emotion you can just make go away.

Here is my example.

A normal person feeling depression would be like say, when you get so mad, your insincts take over, and you can LET yourself go and get mad.

Well, alot of people CAN control that. The problem is clinical depression isn't like that now is it. People think because they may for a short time in there life feel something similar that they KNOW what its like or HOW to ######6 handle it.

Clinicial depression is more like being a werewolf where you can't control the change.

I'd have to agree on most aspects. I'd just like to add that regular depression is usually triggered by a relative factor. In example, a family member dies, you lose your job, etc. But most clinical, major or severe depression is triggered by either nothing at all or a non-relative factor. In example, for no reason or your favorite route to work is blocked off.

I don't like meds.

Yea, severe depression needs no cause. Its just there, although some of the things that would flicker relative depression (how sensative somone is can range a variety of things) can cause the severe depression to worsen depending on various factors.
