Diagnosed immediately?

Postby Perplexed » Thu Dec 15, 2005 2:09 am

I have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness from a doctor whom I've visited a grand total of...one visit. Basically I introduced myself to him, we talked for 20 minutes (not the full hour I was guaranteed, although that didn't take away any of the $40 I had to pay to see him) and then I was diagnosed.

Seriously. I thought these things were complex and I was always told that an immediate diagnosis is irresponsible. I really thought that severe mental disorders were very complicated things. Isn't that why people shouldn't diagnose themselves? So why the hell can this doctor diagnose me as soon as I meet him? He knows nothing about me.

School children are diagnosed and labeled with serious mental illness by completing a 10 minute online test. The results of this test will effect them for the rest of their lives as they now have the legal status of a mental patient and can be forcefully drugged.

See for yourself.

BTW the Bush family sits on the board of Eli Lilly which is one of the biggest manufactures of psychiatric medication. This may help explain why regulations governing psychiatry is so lax. And of course you know G.W. Bush wants to introduce mandatory screening of every American for mental illness. With psychiatrists having the abilty to diagnose in minutes the $$$$$$$ will rolling in for the entire corrupt psychopharmacology industry.

I would go get a second opinion for sure, and maybe a third. Sounds fishy to me.
