Is It So BAD To Take A Drug "Holiday" ??

Postby dog daze » Wed Nov 16, 2005 1:13 am

I never was a good drinker or stoner, like all my other "normal" peers who indulged WAY MORE than I, and turned out much better off, too! (GOD, that pisses me off !!) I dabbled in marijuana 'til I was about 35, but have been clean since then (I am now 54). The thing that made it impossible to continue was depression and anxiety. I felt so BAD and freaked-out normally, I couldn't TOLERATE any change in my brain/mind. I have migraines and go to urgent care and get a non-narcotic called Ketorolac or Toradol. It works great AND you don't get high. The other night, urgent care was closed and someone gave me a couple of Vicodin. It took away my headache, and I actually felt GOOD for once after all these years. It made me think that I'm getting old and maybe I should occasionally "toke up" a joint...what does it matter NOW? I might be able to relax and enjoy myself. Anyone else?

I don't want to be seen as promoting drug use but I honestly don't understand why the US Govt doesn't go ahead and legalize Marijuana. It is a natural substance that is less harmful than alcohol in most ways. It is also the reason thousands of people are rotting in jail cells across the country. If they legalized it and made it a controlled substance in the same vein of alcohol and tobacco they could clean out the prison system and bring in a lot of needed revenue.
