Why doesn't insurance cover the diagnosis of borderline personality disorder? It use to when I was misdiagnosed w/ bipolar, now they don't cover it.

I recommend you post this in the "living with a mental illness forum".
More people will read it.

Even with a broad stretch of the imagination I cant see what this has to do with anti-psychiatry

Alternatively, you could try asking your shrink for the results of your lab tests that confirm your chemical imbalance diagnosis if you wish to confirm the accuracy of your diagnosis?

I'd ask for the results of the lab test results for your bi polar diagnosis and again for your BPD. Psychiatry treats mental illness as a chemical imbalance of the brain (a disease) and psychiatry states its a medical science so these lab test results must exist for and accurate diagnosis to be made.

If not, ask for one to be performed, if you can get your lab test results you will have a better chance of fighting the insurance companies. At least you'll know where you stand.
