Human,
While I do't have an answer for your particular question, I can relate by something my youngest, 20 yr old son, is going through. He had began seeing a girl that he really liked and was hoping that the relationship would go some where. Unfortunately this girl had major problems she hadn't worked her way through. Five years ago her mother and sister were in a car accident. The mother survived but the sister did not. To this day this gal is eaten alive with bitterness, distrust, and blame for her mother. So much so that she cannot seem to keep other relationships going.
I don't know what will happen to you and your g/f. Sometimes people just need some time off to sort things out and possibly get some professional help.
Kathy

hi human753
your girlfriend has to ask herself a question!
that is
why she started a relationship if she already made a resolution not to start one?
what made her and why did she break that resolution?
people need and go into relationships for many many reasons and if she can find that reason, only then she can decide whether or not she needs to deal with it alone or within the relationship
if she entered the relationship for the right reasons and reasons she can live with, then theres no reason for you to break up to combat her unfortunate symptoms
