Ok I spend so much time thinking about what I have to do that I don't get anything done!!! Then I spiral into manic depression and go round and round. Does anyone have the answer to procrastination? Apart from move me arse

write things down by order/importance and do them, if you pick the more important things to be done first then the not-so-important things shouldn't be a big deal anyways

I set a few attainable goals for myself each day. That way, even if I have a bad day, I will still have gotten something done.

Procrastination is and has been one of my greatest problems all of my life. I also see it as the basis of many problems that people around me have.
I do what has been said to do. I list what needs to be done. Then I try to pick some things that sort of need to be done first. Then I start work on them. One extra thing I do is to take a job/task/project/problem and break it down into many, many small pieces. Then, I do the pieces one at a time. I always pat myself on the back for every effort I make. I do not compare myself to others. I compare myself to myself in former days when my procrastination was much worse.
Procrastination for me seems to be related to fear. I'm afraid of making a mistake. I'm afraid of not getting it done as fast as others. I often write in my journal about my fears, especially if I find myself wanting to put things off.
I was diagonised with ADD, but I do not just sit back and do nothing because I have that condition. Getting myself focused is probably harder for me, but it is not imposible.
Good Luck,
Jim S

Yes I do believe my procrastination is related to fear. I find the more I try to look at what the fear is the deeper it gets. This morning I actually looked at a towel lying on the bathroom floor and said "Its just a towel" that seemed to stop me being frozen. I picked it up and put it back. Its as if I have given all my power over to things and people and places and left myself empty and unable to function.
