I thought I'd chime in on this thread since it's been bumped up with a response.
There is no such thing as mind reading. Contrary to what some think, our thoughts are non-linear most of the time. They start and stop, and sometimes an image (still or moving) interjects. There are sounds, abstracts of other thoughts, time shifting through memory, etc - all mixed together and happening in milliseconds. I don't think it would be easy to make sense of what someone is thinking even over a short period of time. It seems coherent to the thinker because he or she understands the quickly shifting information and all of its context.
Try this: For thirty minutes speak all your thoughts. I'm not talking about sitting and speaking on one subject. I mean go about your day and say all your thoughts. For instance, you may think to yourself, "I have to set the alarm for tomorrow". That's a thought. And it's probably wedged in between some other conversation in your head.
And so forth.
