Renting a place question

Postby Numberone01 » Wed Aug 01, 2018 9:10 pm

I live in the UK and I am 25 and I have no idea how renting works. My stepbrother is younger then my and is renting a place with his GF. They have both been to UNI and shared before and he has a part time job as well as her but they needed references, references from who i ask. I have no idea what to do because I work part time in McDonald, I go to college and might go to UNI next year but how can i get good references. Also I don't understand what a credit score check is because i don't have i credit card, i only have a debit card and my mum pays for the things i want and need

I don't know about references, but as far as a credit score is concerned, you need to have income coming in and you apply, say, for example, a credit card and when you apply for that or other things such as renting an apartment, or getting a loan, you have a score they have for you. Depending on that score, you can qualify for any of these things, only if your credit is to a level that they deem necessary. My score used to be in the 600's and that wasn't very good, but then it became past 700's because I always paid my bills on time and I paid them off as well, so I had good standing with those institutions, therefore I had "good credit." My interest rate in buying a home or getting a credit card was lower than if the credit score would have been worse. I hope this helps.

I am banned from so many great forums because of my depression and anger with my stepbrother. ITS NOT MY FAULT. I JUST WANT TO BE HAPPY. How would you feel if you were the only one out of you stepsiblings who can't drive, can't get a job, haven't been to UNI and hasn't got a girlfriend or been on holiday with the person they love. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL!!!!

Yeah, I can only imagine I'd feel pretty rotten. But please don't take your anger out like that. I mean it's one thing to vent, but it's another thing to be angry all the time and push people away or be angry and posting in a way that is getting you banned from Forums.

So what do you expect me to do.

I can't tell you what to do. Only you can decide what you want for yourself. But for me, I'd see if I could talk to a good friend and see if I can get some positive feedback. I'd even go so far to say, I'd see a therapist to talk to in an private setting. But's it's completely up to you.
