call me paranoid, but....

i just thought id point out that this forum could be a potential 'hunting ground' for predatory types who prey on those who are in a weakened state

so id recommend being weary of newly registered users trying to pm you asking personal info. and acting especially kind for no particular reason

call me a paranoid bitch, but i just was thinking about this; especially for those who post about previous sexual abuse(attracting offenders), illegal paraphillias(being lured by 'cops'), and those low on self esteem at the moment

well said as usual.....that's not paranoia , is basic safety. u shud pm sean on that.....there must be some kind of "filter" or at least a heightened state of awareness here.....has anyone been pm'ing u in a n overly friendly, or just wierd way? this needs to stay a safe place. i gotta say, that was damn insightful thinking on your part.....kudos.....i know the reg. process is somewhat sensitive to stuff like that, but today's evil friggin predators r gettin' into everything. thnx 4 the heads up, be safe, take care.......'core

You don't sound paranoid to me. But then I feel nervous about talking to people here in general. I don't mind people knowing my (first) name and my story but other than that having my info posted up on ANY site makes me uncomfortable. Even what country I live in, or my e-mail addy.

I dont mind sharing it out when I feel comfortable with who I'm talking to (which is limited) but when people ask me for my details (and it has happened) I feel dodgy. Especially personal contact details. Not on this site, but I've had someone try to ask for my phone number before.

beata,

When we share things on this forum, there has to be somekinda
trust. And God help them if they are not. and .....and.....mmm well I just dont think would turn out for the perv.

I cant say All but I can say most of the people on here seem to care for each other.

If there was a hiding pervert in our flock, That sick person, would show off his/her self.

we all would nail him.

CAVEAT EMPTOR! Or buyer beware. Its just good common sense to not be too revealing, especially on the Internet.
I am appalled at the stuff I see people reveal on MySpace and other such sights.
