Waiting for Evaluation .....

Postby vja4Him » Sun Jun 18, 2006 11:19 pm

About two weeks ago I was reading about bipolar disorder. As I kept reading, I noticed that I have many of the symptoms, especially symptoms for depression, and about four symptoms for mania.

I have an appointment with a mental health specialist for an evaluation Tuesday, June 20th. My two boys also have appointments the following week. I never thought that I could have a mental disorder! I thought that was only for people who are crazy, nuts, spaced out, dangerous, violent, criminals, murderers ........

I have found out that many people who attend several recovery programs I've been involved with have mental disorders ....... I have recently admitted that I've been in denial for many years ...... I know that something is wrong with me and my two boys.

I also have many symptoms of ADD. Both of my boys also have ADD symptoms. My youngest son has symptoms of ADHD. I have also been diagnosed with hypoglycemia (very bad - need to eat 8-10 times everyday), high blood pressure and sleep apnea.

Sometimes I feel like a walking corpse!! I'm hoping that if I need to take medication, the doctor will be able to find something that will not make me sleepy, due to the nature of my work.

If and when you find out. don't allow them to give you anything that causes weight gain due to your borderline diabetes/ Esp. xyprexa or seroquel.

Let me know what you find out. i also mod the bipolar forum and am bipolar 1, don't let that scare you. :)
