I'm watching a show exploring the Jack the Ripper mystery.

Even as a kid I was facinated by these crimes. I studied various explanations and was never really satisfied with the results. Anyway let's see where they go with it this time (it has said there's new leads, but I this show looks like it was released in the 90's)

Cornwell's thesis, namely, that Walter Sickert was Jack the Ripper, IMO, lacks credible evidence. Her claim that mitochondrial dna was found on Sickerts letters and also Jack the Ripper letters, is weak. DNA over a hundred years old. Also all these documents have been handled by numerous ppl over the years allowing for cross contamination.

But most striking is the fact that almost all Ripper letters are considered hoaxes. Not the Ripper.

Told you I'm geaky about this.

You are indeed - and yes I can see that mDNA from something over 100 years old is iffy evidence.

I am watching something about the death penalty - very disturbing
