Two black eyes and a broken nose

She's got blood on her clothes

Bare feet, a dirty face and a smile from ear to ear. 

She doesn't care what you say, she'll just laugh in your face as you take her prints and lock her away. 

She's grateful for the room you gave her, it's warm with a blanket and bed. 

She's grateful for the mirror too, it kind of distorts her reflection but that's not so bad. 

She's glad for the window, the frosted glass may spoil the view but she can make out day from night. 

She likes the room service, three meals a day, Luke warm but edible. 

She's pleased she's got running water, the stainless steel is quite a modern twist. 

She's grateful for the footsteps outside, they make her feel so not alone. 

She likes the solid steel door, the serving hatch and the echoes down the hall. 

She likes the wall.

I walk the floor and watch the door

Lost in a crowd I’m surrounded by strangers, just faces- but they have no names.
Are they all pieces or are they the players just doomed- to go on and play- wicked games?

Caught in a din, I hear voices all calling for someone to blame.

Trapped in a bind I see shadows, some frozen, some others encircled by flames.
Are they my friend or my foe, doesn’t matter, like me- they’re caught up and they play- Deadly Games.

When the Music Fades

They loved to dance, and they danced their hearts out
They loved different beats, but it never mattered
He danced hers, she danced his

One day, they wanted different tunes
He wanted the same, and she wanted more upbeat
They loved each other, so they still danced
They would play one tune after the other

Time passed and they both grew tired
He stepped his right foot and so did she
Their legs were hurting; they had to pause
and so he slowly let go
while she tried to grab on tight

His arms were bruised by how strong she held
the music was fading, so she let go as well
The once bright light gradually turned dim

He was looking at her with confusion in his eyes
Undecided if he's to take her hand once again
She was looking at him while she cried silent tears
Confounded by what could have happened

They kept staring at each other with uncertainty
Until the music finally stopped
They both looked at each other with fear in their eyes
Fear of the curtain coming down with a single step backward

The room was full of silence and started to be covered in darkness
The curtain was about to reach the bottom
When a sound of a stiletto heel clicked on the floor
There was a gleam on her lips and she uttered,
"hum for me baby"
