The Nose Knows!!

I just had a bath and the smell of my honey and milk soap is divine.

Dust and and something unpleasant, maybe it is some kind of mildew.

I smell cat poop. I think my cat pooped in my closet...

The bitter stench of my perpetual discontent.

One of my cats has IBD and when he has a flare-up, the stench from his poop is overwhelming. Imagine a dead goat inside a burning tire, they probably smell about the same. I've actually had to leave the apartment a couple of times or had to open the windows in the dead of winter. It's so bad.

Maybe your cat needs to see a vet. My cats only poop outside their box when they are sick. Is it possible your cat has eaten something bad?

It also could be something else. I have noticed cats usually do not like any changes in their territory. They sometimes do feel stressed if you move the furniture, for example.

Of course, it is possible that only was an one time incident and nothing else.
