This year I was able to fold and give away at least 3,000+ paper cranes.
They are often stringed and put up in orphanages and kids' rooms in psych/MH centers where I help out.
During particularly dark episodes, where I can't work/study, paint or write, paper folding can become quite like an obsession. The more intense the internal stress, the more paper animals/flowers I create.
This is so sweet. I've also recently taken up origami when I have extreme anxiety as a way to refocus my mind. I am hardly up to your standards though, I can only create hearts and butterflies from memory. The rest I need to follow a tutorial for.
I know an artist who does street art with origami butterflies. It would be quite beautiful to follow the same motif in orphanages and hospitals.
