What's the Geekiest Thing about You?

Okay, I confess: I have a picture of Kirby the creampuff on my office wall, and I'm old enough to have children who could play his games. Image

I also own all the Final Fantasys games, plus many more RPGS and survival horror games..

and I watch more anime then anybody else i know..

I was once so in love with Jean-claude from the Anita blake series.. that i read all 6 books in less then a month.. and on the 7th book.. when he finally had sex with anita.. I quit reading because my heart broke he 'cheated' on me.. LOL

I am in love with fictional characters from books.. animes.. videogames.. and write fanfics about me and them..

I had a crush on Alistair from Dragon Age. And I can count the number of crushes I've had in my life on one hand.

        Image
I smiled whenever he talked to me. I always gave him the best armour and weapons. I was smitten.

I was devastated when he didn't follow me to the Expansion Pack. And then rather peeved to realise that he already had legions of female fans and even an "I love Alistair!" Facebook group. So the understanding Alistair and I shared was never special.
No diagnosis, lots of opinions, and a bunch of issues that I haven't quite figured out.

Hmm... where do I begin

I learned about Greek Mythology in Grade 2-- along with other 'special' kids. Pandora's box comes to mind...

I was psychoanalyzed by a shrink also the same year... told my parents he wanted to talk me when I was 16. or maybe that was the super-hardcore-druggie friend of my mum's from Woodstock? Irregardless...

I averaged an 86% in high school math despite having all but dropped out (I did go in--mostly--every Friday to write the test)!

...

probably said enough.

I'm a romantic?

I am a cartoon and animation junkie. I've collected Charlie Brown, Garfield, Far Side, Bloom County, Herman, Andy Capp and my fav Calvin and Hobbes. I also have a sizeable collection of animation. 32 discs of Looney Tunes alone plus every Pixar, Dreamworks or Disney animated flick ever made.

I've also recorded every episode of The Simpsons since it began. I know! I'm pathetic
Sleep is my drug….my bed is my dealer and my alarm clock is the police.

The geekiest thing about me was in the 6th grade I actually taught a 4th grade class on flight.

I went through the history of flight in the natural world from the dinosaurs through to our current birds.
I then taught them about man's flight, from the designs of Leonardo Da Vinci through to the Space Race.

I was asked what I thought would be the next developments in flight and to be honest I think I was pretty close, I mentioned the next major development would be giant radio controlled planes where pilots fly people from the comfort of their home. I think maybe they already existed but were in their infancy when I was in the 6th Grade.

My particular era of preference for flight was in fact World War II... gotta love the major advancements in the aircraft during that period. Canvas covered propellor driven timber frames to a fully metal constructed jet powered machine in under 10 years
The bright light at the end of a dark tunnel could be an oncoming train, but it could also be the way out of the darkness...

I have a clavichord and am obsessed with collecting baroque and classical era music, am developing a collection of symphonic scores and a collection of recorder flutes.

I used to look on the now defunct Jurassic Park Institute website all the time and print out dinosaur cards, attempted to get a dinosaur card circulation going at my elementary school unsuccessfully because Yugio  Cards were too popular. A dinosaur fanatic I was.

Oooo, let’s see...

I once memorised pi, and stopped explicitly at 404 places for the reference to a page not found error. I earned a free college class for this, but then dropped out and moved to a new country.

I once wrote an othello clone in assembly; though, admittedly, the AI was rather predictable.

I’ve tried to write code that can inspect, modify, and improve it's own code (AI).

I used graphviz to map out college class interdependencies, international routing paths, and my family tree.

Recursion excites me.

I've sung the Tetris song while trying creative ways to fit groceries into the refrigerator and while cars were stacking up behind toll gates.

After several pints of Guinness, I once laid down a compelling argument in favour of spirituality, using relativity and quantum mechanics as a supporting base.

I sometimes convert people’s license plate numbers to binary or practice saying them in foreign languages to pass time while driving.

Sometimes I try to play chess in my head, or practice piano on the side of a table.

Oh, and maybe the geekiest (or most competitive) of all, I came out of hiding just to “win” this thread. ;)
I'm not crazy. My reality is just different from yours.
