I felt that way when rugby union went professional.

on the whole I wonder if atheists have smaller egos than those who havea spiritual or religious belief. The reason I wonder this is that those who believe have an answer as to what they think will happen to them after death in that they will continue to exist somehow, whereas atheists see death as the end. Thinking you are going to live in some capacity forever suggests you think you are important enough to. Thinking you are going to die and that is the end suggests you think you are dispensible with. I wonder if there is a link to ego here.

Conflict of interest - I am a Christian

Speaking as a devote atheist, I simply have no need for a God. In fact existance makes far more sense without one. The laws of physics are all the god that is necessary.

I fail to see how those with belief explain all the misery and injustice in our lives. Does this mean God has abandoned them or does he just not care? And the evil that exists everywhere, is that due to necessity or error on a God's part?

I have to agree with Iwoya on this one! I'm an atheist too and think if there was a god he wouldn't want to cause so much pain and suffering!

I'm intrigued by pictures within pictures within pictures.....I remember being really little and seeing a bottle of baby powder, with a picture of a baby holding that same bottle, which in turn also had a picture of that baby holding that bottle.....WHEN DOES IT END????? LOL XD

depends - most atheist are against abrahamic religions (maybe because they're easy to counter if taken literally)... on the other hand - you can find atheists that are adepts of Buddhism (yet, i tend to believe that they're very few in number) - and Buddhism, has a different definition for ego (compared to Freudian version):

http://www.buddhanet.net/e-learning/intro_bud.htm

... strictly related to Freudian version - yes, Christians have bigger ego but still small in comparison to Jehovah's witnesses (they have limited sits in Heaven - only 144000 can enter - it's a VIP version of heaven :D )...

I had someone steal something huge from me a couple of months ago that I need very much (car).

When the Colorado theater shooting happened it got me to wondering something that I had wondered when the theft took place..... when these immoral people do things and see people suffering from what they have done, do they take pleasure from the suffering? Do they not feel anything? Does it even come up on their radar that there are other people hurting due to their actions? I have almost been obsessing about it lately, almost needing to know. I have had people hurt me a lot and just been wondering.

I think, don't know where or when, I once heard it said, that ......
A good friend will never tell you what to do.......
they might point you in the right direction and give you a good hard shove......
But they will never tell you what to do....
However they'll hang round to pick up the pieces.....

Dropping the word good I've gotta ask are friends as real as Unicorns?
Allergic to affection
and don't believe in love
