"If on the other hand I tell you that to let no day pass without discussing goodness and all the other subjects about which you hear me talking and examining both myself and others is really the very best thing that a man can do, and that life without this sort of examination is not worth living."

If I am walking with two other men, each of them will serve as my teacher. I will pick out the good points of the one and imitate them, and the bad points of the other and correct them in myself.

Strongly agree with this quote that I originally read in one of One's posts. "A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still." Boy do I see that.

Found another interpretation of that one by googling it.

Dane Helmers: Some people say it is better to appear foolish than open your mouth and remove all doubt. I say if it is already thought then you have nothing to lose.

"Who is more foolish, the child afraid of the dark, or the man afraid of the light?" - Maurice Freehill

"All the "isms" - racism, sexism, ageism, et al. - are founded on and fueled by the stereotype and the cliche, which are lies of exaggeration, omission, and ignorance. They are always dangerous. They take a single tree and make it a landscape." - Stephanie Ericsson

"I've often mused that madness is actually a sane reaction to an insane world." - Stephanie Ericsson

"The liar's punishment [ . . . ] is that he cannot believe anyone else." - George Bernard Shaw
