This one kind of hits home for me, today.

Mozart's 19th string quartet in C major, k 465, performed by the Barchet quartet. It's commonly referred to as the "Dissonant" quartet, because people absolutelyHATED it back when it was first played in 1785. It's the final of Mozart's six string quartets that were dedicated to Franz Joseph Haydn (Mozart's friend and Beethoven's main teacher). These sing quartets were generally all hated, but this on in particular. However, nowadays, they're considered to be some of Mozart's best works.

People in 1785 were whack, yo!

Verdi's opera Aida. Everyone that is familiar with Verdi is familiar with this opera. Long story short, I almost bought the Leontyne Price, and Placido Domingo performance on vinyl yesterday, and thought "nah! I'll get it another time," but this morning, while I was digging around random crap, I found the Birgit Nillson and Franco Corelli set. I didn't even know I owned it. While digging through my crap, I saw Franco Corelli's face and recognized the costume. So yes yes, saved myself $8.50.
